Kyler Murray to have knee surgery after Christmas

Surgery is coming for Kyler Murray to repair his torn ACL. It will happen after Christmas.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday, which officially ends his season with only four game remaining in the regular season. His season was already over due to his torn ACL he sustained on the third play of the game on Monday against the New England Patriots.

He has not yet had surgery to repair the knee but it is coming.

Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury spoke to reporters Wednesday and said Murray’s surgery would come after Christmas.

Surgeries can be delayed a bit for a number of reasons. One major one is so that inflammation goes down.

With his recovery time being in the months, waiting a week isn’t that big a thing looking at the big picture, especially when there are a number of reasons that go into the decision to push back a surgery like this.
