The Arizona Cardinals will face the Carolina Panthers on Sunday in Week 16. Despite a 1 p.m. ET kickoff from Bank of America Stadium, it is expected to be cold, around 35 degrees.
When quarterback Kyler Murray was asked about it by reporters on Wednesday, he simply said, “I’ve played in cold weather before.”
He then asked how cold it was expected to be. When he heard it would be around 35, he responded with an expletive.
It was a funny moment.
But the truth is that Murray has not had a problem in cold-weather games.
According to the 33rd Team, the Cardinals are 3-1 when Murray starts in outdoor games with a kickoff temperature at or below 45 degrees in his career. He has eight touchdown passes and two interceptions in those games and has a 103.5
Murray has 8 TDs to 2 turnovers and a 103.5 passer rating in such games.
Considering the Panthers are 3-11 and have statistically one of the league’s worst defenses, it shouldn’t be hard for him to have another solid cold-weather game.
