Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was the unanimous MVP for the 2019 season. Some are already looking ahead to the 2020 season and who might be the Most Valuable Player next year.
New odds from BetMGM came out for the winner of the 2020 MVP and Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is in the mix.
He is far from the favorite, but he has the same odds as some significant names.
The three favorites for the award next season are Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes at 4/1, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson at 5/1 and Jackson at 6/1.
Murray is listed at 33/1 with five others.
That includes New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. The others at 33/1 are New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey and Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry.
The Cardinals should be improved in 2020. If Murray is to have a real shot at the MVP award, he would need to have a season like Mahomes or Jackson did and the Cardinals would need to make the big improvement the San Francisco 49ers made between 2018 and 2019.
Is it worth a wager? How about a $20 bet with the potential to win $660 in profit? It wouldn’t hurt. Just don’t go and bet a house payment. As good as Murray could be, there are a lot of moving parts than just his play alone to win him the award.
