Kyler Gordon ruled out for Chicago Bears during London game

Former Washington Huskies cornerback Kyler Gordon left the Chicago Bears’ matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars in London early with an injury.

Former Washington Huskies and current Chicago Bears cornerback Kyler Gordon was in the midst of a strong game in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars. One that made Bears fans thankful that general manager Ryan Poles selected him in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft.

It seemed like Gordon’s name was called by Rich Eisen and the NFL Network broadcast every defensive series during the first half, and his performance was a huge factor in Chicago’s 14-3 halftime lead.

Gordon, who has emerged as one of the premier nickel corners in the NFL,  was a vital part of defensive coordinator Eric Williams’ blitz-heavy game plan that he unleashed on Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

On one of these pressures, Lawrence ran to the outside, and Gordon went in to take down the former No. 1 overall pick. The Mukilteo, Washington native was slow to get up after the play ended, and when he finally rose, it appeared that he was grabbing at his hamstring.

After being escorted to the medical tent, he was helped down the sideline by two members of the Bears training staff and taken to the locker room.

He was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the game after tallying 7 tackles in the contest, one for a loss.

Gordon already had a light week of practice due to a heel injury. He didn’t practice on Wednesday, but was a full participant on Thursday and Friday. The Bears have a bye week ahead, which will give the third-year cornerback plenty of time to rest before the team’s next game.
