The Boston Red Sox beat the New York Yankees, 6-2, last night in a win-or-go-home wild card game at a rocking Fenway Park.
The Red Sox will now face the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALDS and the Yankees will face… the offseason.
One of the big reasons why the Yankees’ season came to an end last night was the inability of their ace, Gerrit Cole, to pitch like an ace. He lasted just two innings and gave up two home runs.
The second of those home runs was crushed by Kyle Schwarber, who immediately knew it was gone and was FIRED UP.
His reaction was awesome:

I mean, how fun was that?! Well, I guess it wasn’t a lot of fun if you’re a Yankees fan.
Here’s another look at the homer:

That wasn’t the first time he hit a home run off Cole in a playoff game:
2015: Kyle Schwarber hits a home run in the 3rd inning of the Wild Card Game off of Gerrit Cole to give his team a 3-0 lead
