Kyle Pitts is all the rage in NFL draft circles and as the Eagles prepare to add a veteran quarterback to the mix, April’s selection process could come down to a wide receiver or a dynamic tight end.
The Florida Gators star and Philadelphia native is set to make things difficult for the Eagles, who could have Ja’Marr Chase as the top player on their draft boards.
Pitts and the Gators will have their pro day on March 31, and as teams continue to set their draft boards, a tight end moving faster than Mike Evans could make things interesting.
Evans was clocked at a 4.53 coming out of Texas A&M and if this pre-pro-day time from Pitts is any indication, he’ll be a tight end, running faster than some wideouts and running backs.
Pitts was clocked unofficially at a 4.46 40-yard dash recently and he’ll likely reset draft boards if he can duplicate that time next week.
Pitts has a faster burst than some wide receivers in this draft class and heâs a matchup nightmare who can line up all over the field, has great speed, hands, and a 6-foot-6 frame that makes him extremely difficult to contain.
A finalist for both the Mackey (TE) and Biletnikoff Awards (WR), Pitts finished the 2020 season with 43 catches for 770 yards and 12 touchdowns, despite playing in only eight games.
