Before the rain arrived at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, several people thought it would end the USA TODAY 301. It was hard racing as the rain approached, and [autotag]Kyle Larson[/autotag] was one driver fighting for the lead. However, Larson never took the lead as Denny Hamlin used him up exiting Turn 4. In the end, the rain didn’t end the event, but it did cause a spicy No. 5 radio.
Larson’s spotter Tyler Monn told his driver, “[Denny Hamlin] runs you like that every time. You know why? Because you let it happen.” Larson didn’t seem to like that comment as he told Monn to “Shut the [expletive] up.” The No. 5 radio went silent, and Larson returned to focus on moving his way back up the field.

The driver of the No. 5 car came home with a fourth-place finish, while Hamlin struggled with the Wet Weather tires for a 24th-place finish. Larson and Hamlin have had several on-track incidents in the last year, and emotions were running high on the No. 5 team. It’s to be determined if Larson ever gets back to Hamlin, but if it were up to Monn, he’d race him differently.
