Kyle Larson out of the 2024 Chili Bowl Nationals after rough Thursday night

Kyle Larson will not compete in the main event at the 2024 Chili Bowl Nationals after a rough Thursday night.

[autotag]Kyle Larson[/autotag] made a late surprise by entering into the 2024 Chili Bowl Nationals, but it didn’t last long. On Thursday night, Larson had an accident that placed him into one of the C-Mains and crawled his way to the main event. However, the Hendrick Motorsports driver failed to lock himself into the A-Main on Saturday night after flipping late in the main qualification race.

Larson would have been forced to qualify on Saturday night without a guaranteed spot, which would not have been possible as his main focus is the Wild West Shootout. He was attempting to run the “Dirt Double” on the same day, but a failed lock into the A-Main on Saturday night forced him to drop out of the Chili Bowl.

The two-time Chili Bowl winner will now focus his efforts on the Wild West Shootout on Saturday. Larson was originally scheduled to run the race before the Chili Bowl, as the latter was a late add-on event. While it is disappointing to see Larson drop out, two NASCAR drivers, Chase Briscoe and Ricky Stenhouse Jr., are still in the running for the Golden Digger.
