Kyle Larson discusses winning his first Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. What did Larson say about winning the race after May?

[autotag]Kyle Larson[/autotag]’s mistake on pit road during the 2024 Indianapolis 500 cost him a chance at kissing the bricks in late May; however, he made up for it in July. Larson won the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway after clawing through the field late in the event. The driver of the No. 5 car had more fuel, allowing him to push the vehicle to the limit.

Following the event, Larson climbed out after his third Crown Jewel victory in NASCAR and was asked where winning the Brickyard 400 ranks on his career win list. It was an excellent moment for Larson, who felt redemption from late May in the NTT IndyCar Series.

It’s for sure up there,” Larson said. “Like you mentioned, this is just such a prestigious place, such hallowed ground. Pretty neat to get an opportunity to race here on the oval again. What a job by our team. I mean, never gave up at all. We had the pit stop issue there early on. Just fought and dug and had things work out.”

“Just can’t thank them enough. Hendrickcars.com, Valvoline, Chevrolet, JINYA Ramen Bar, Prime, all the fans, too. I love you, Indiana fans. I know you guys love me, too.”

Larson now enters the Olympic break with four wins and the lead in the regular season point standings. The 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion has been the best driver in 2024 and continues to impress. Larson may not have kissed the bricks in the Indianapolis 500; however, he had time to practice at the Brickyard 400 before the 2025 racing season.
