[autotag]Kyle Larson[/autotag]’s attempt at “The Double” could be in serious jeopardy. As of Thursday, May 23, the Indianapolis 500 weather forecast is very, very bad, which could force the event to run on Monday. Meanwhile, the Coca-Cola 600 weather forecast looks better but still has questions about whether the 600-mile race could be run on Sunday night.
However, what if Larson were faced with the decision to run the Indianapolis 500 or Coca-Cola 600? Hendrick Motorsports owner Rick Hendrick alluded to the possibility of keeping Larson in Indianapolis over the NASCAR Cup Series race in Charlotte, according to RACER.com’s Marshall Pruett. Hendrick cited the importance of earning points in Charlotte, but the Indianapolis 500 is the biggest racing event of the year.
The Coca-Cola 600 has been the main priority as Larson’s full-time job remains with NASCAR, but Hendrick has indirectly hinted that a stay in Indianapolis could be possible. As Hendrick said, this is a decision that will be made on Sunday, but the hope is that the weather forecast clears out. It’s not looking very good, but it can change quickly over the next few days.
