[autotag]Kyle Larson[/autotag] started out the 2023 NASCAR playoffs in the best way possible after winning the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway. Larson then followed it up with a fourth-place finish at Kansas Speedway and a second-place finish at Bristol Motor Speedway. However, the driver of the No. 5 car did much more than have a successful Round of 16.
Larson officially broke the record for the best average finish (2.33) in the Round of 16. The Hendrick Motorsports driver is also on pace for the best average finishing position in the NASCAR playoff era. Larson, Kevin Harvick, Martin Truex Jr., and Joey Logano are all tied for second place with a 3.00 average finishing position.

It has been a very strong beginning to the 2023 NASCAR playoffs for Larson and it only appears to be getting better as the sport moves forward. The 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion has several tracks left that fit his style of racing so it wouldn’t be surprising if this continues all the way to the Championship 4 at Phoenix Raceway.
