Kyle Kuzma to start for Lakers, Alex Caruso out vs. Rockets

The Los Angeles Lakers will go small against the Houston Rockets when they play them on Thursday night.

The Los Angeles Lakers are going with a different look on Thursday night as they will take the floor without their leader LeBron James. Lakers coach Frank Vogel told reporters prior to Thursday’s game against the smallball Houston Rockets that he will start Kyle Kuzma, moving JaVale McGee to the bench and moving Anthony Davis to center, while also moving Quinn Cook into the starting lineup. In addition to the changes in the starting lineup, the Lakers will also be without bench sparkplug Alex Caruso, according to The Athletic’s Bill Oram.

The Lakers have struggled to shoot the ball to start their slate of seeding games in the bubble, while they are also coming off their worst offensive performance of the season.

Both Vogel and LeBron James have eluded to issues the Lakers are facing that are negatively impacting their play on the court. It appears that Vogel is trying to inject some energy into his team by changing things up.
