Kyle Busch talks about nightmarish race at New Hampshire in 2024

Kyle Busch talks about his nightmarish race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in 2024. Find out what Busch said about the day in Loudon!

[autotag]Kyle Busch[/autotag] probably doesn’t want to return to New Hampshire Motor Speedway anytime soon. Before last weekend, Busch had three finishes of 36th place or worse in the last four races at the venue, and it wasn’t any better this time around. The driver of the No. 8 car wrecked a few times, but his day ended after hitting the wall under caution following the rain delay. Busch finished in 35th place.

Following the event, Richard Childress Racing released a quote from Busch talking about the nightmarish race at New Hampshire. After going two laps down and crashing, there weren’t many positives to take away from the weekend.

“I’m proud of everyone at [Richard Childress Racing] and all the guys on the FICO team for their hard work this weekend. They did a great job making adjustments and repairs. We didn’t get to qualify on Saturday and had only five minutes of practice. The FICO Camaro was a handful in the race, but [crew chief] Randall Burnett kept making changes.”

“We worked our way back into the lead lap and thought we could pick up a few more spots, but unfortunately, we hit the wall under caution on wets just before coming back to green after the rain delay and weren’t able to finish. We’ll take the FICO Chevy back to the shop to evaluate what happened and how we can improve on our New Hampshire package.”

It’s unclear why Busch hit the wall under caution with the Wet Weather Tires, but Richard Childress Racing must figure it out. Busch now sits 45 points behind the playoff cut-line with eight races left in the regular season. The clock is ticking, and the No. 8 team either needs a win or an increase in performance to make the 2024 NASCAR playoffs.
