Tennessee’s Kyle Booker to play in the Appalachian League championship game.

Tennessee outfielder Kyle Booker and the Kingsport Axmen will play in the Appalachian League championship game.

The Axmen (37-17) won the league’s West division and will play East division champion Burlington (38-18).

The championship game will take place Monday at Burlington. First pitch is slated for 7 p.m. EDT.

Booker ended Appalachian League regular season play with a . 310 batting average, totaling one home run, 24 RBIs, eight stolen bases, seven doubles and one triple in 29 games.

As a sophomore for the Vols last season, Booker appeared in 29 games and started six contests.

He recorded a .222 batting average, totaling 10 hits, 12 runs, three doubles and one home run in 2022.
