The initial diagnosis on Washington QB Kyle Allen is a dislocated ankle, but only a small fracture, source said. A significant injury, but somewhat better than it looked initially on replay.

It’s a scene that every Washington fan is all too familiar with, watching QB Kyle Allen get sacked and go down with what looked like a gruesome leg injury in the first quarter of the game against the New York Giants on Sunday.
The initial diagnosis is that Allen suffered a dislocated ankle with a small fracture, which is relatively good news when you consider how much worse it could have been.
Allen attempted to scramble on the play and took a hit to his leg that looked to turn his foot sideways. He went down and was in some pain, eventually having an air cast put on his leg and being lifted onto the cart. He was quickly ruled out for the rest of the game, and Alex Smith is now in at quarterback.
