Kwesi Adofo-Mensah says ‘the expectation is’ that Kirk Cousins will be Vikings QB in 2023

The Vikings’ general manager expects Cousins to be back next season

Whenever you have a team that plays well with question marks at major positions, there will be some questions that need answering at the season-ending press conference. One of those was about the future of Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins.

In the wake of Sunday’s wild-card loss to the Giants, general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah was asked straight away about Cousins and whether he would be receiving an extension.

“The expectation is that he will be our quarterback next season,” Adofo-Mensah said.

There was no full-on commitment to Cousins on a long-term basis. Heck, you could argue he didn’t even commit to him on a short-term one. Adofo-Mensah has a brilliant way about him in terms of public speaking and he can say a lot without actually saying anything. That is exactly what this was.

Right now, Cousins is the starting quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings. For how long is another question that we don’t have an answer to.
