Boston Celtics big man Kristaps Porzingis has no plans to miss Game 3 of the NBA Finals and inferred he will risk his life to play.
Just days before the NBA Finals, there were questions about whether Kristaps would actually be on the court. He’d been battling a lingering calf injury since April and hadn’t logged any game minutes. He was able to play in Game 1 and even Game 2 before his calf seemingly gave him a bit of trouble.
Post-game, Boston head coach Joe Mazzulla said that Porzingis was “good” and that he wasn’t concerned about him playing in Game 3. Porzingis seemed to echo those same sentiments by giving a brutally honest one-liner about playing in the next game. Per Jared Weiss of The Athletic, Kristaps flatly said, “I will die out there” when asked if he was suiting up.
Kristaps Porizngis said he feels good but they will have to take a look at his leg injury tomorrow.
But it doesn’t sound like he plans to sit Game 3.
