Knicks vs. Celtics: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

Our prediction and best bets for Sunday’s Knicks-Celtics game.

The slumping New York Knicks travel to Boston to face the Celtics in a early game on Sunday, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, moneyline odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on BetMGM.

The game tips off at 1:00 p.m. ET and can be seen on NBA TV.

Despite a rash of COVID-19 issues that caused the Celtics to postpone three consecutive games, Boston (8-3) is riding a five-game winning streak, and are coming off a blowout win over the Magic. The Knicks (5-8) have lost five straight this season, and have also lost five in a row against the Celtics.

Jayson Tatum, Robert Williams and Carsen Edwards are out for the Celtics, while Daniel Theis and Tacko Fall are questionable. The good news for Boston is that star guard Kemba Walker has been upgraded to questionable, and could make his first appearance of the season. The Knicks will be without Alec Burks and Frank Ntilikina.

The lines, courtesy of BetMGM

Advice and prediction

The Knicks haven’t beaten the Celtics since 2018, and I don’t expect them to come close to scoring an upset on Sunday. The Knicks’ roster is entirely outmatched even with Jayson Tatum out for the Celtics, and Kemba Walker’s return will only boost a Celtics team that has been playing at a high level and blowing out opponents.

The Knicks rank 27th in offensive efficiency,  and 19th in defensive rating. I expect the Celtics to get to 120 points and the Knicks to simply not have the firepower to keep it close. Take Celtics -7.5 confidently, along with the over 212.5, a line that feels a little bit low.

Prediction: Celtics 121, Knicks 101
