New York Knicks rookie Immanuel Quickley has been upgraded to probable to play on Saturday against the Indiana Pacers after dealing with a sore left hip, the team announced prior to the contest.
Quickley hasn’t played with the Knicks since suffering a hip pointer during the season opener on Dec. 23 after attempting to chase for a rebound. Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau said on Thursday that Quickley was progressing toward returning after going through treatment and it now appears he will be ready to play versus the Pacers.
The 25th overall pick recorded five points in 12 minutes prior to the injury.

New York has been battered by injuries to start the season with Kevin Knox (knee, hand), Alec Burks (ankle), Frank Ntilikina (knee), Dennis Smith Jr. (quad), Omari Spellman (knee) and Obi Toppin (calf) all dealing with separate injuries.
The team figures to receive a needed addition to the lineup with Quickley on the verge of returning on Saturday. He played an important with the team during the preseason and should see plenty of minutes throughout the season.
