After earning the start in each of the past two games, New York Knicks rookie Immanuel Quickley was ruled out for Thursday’s game against the Orlando Magic with a sore left ankle.
The Knicks moved Quickley into the starting lineup on Monday with Elfrid Payton injured (sore hamstring) and Derrick Rose in the health and safety protocols. Quickley responded by scoring 21 points in that contest and 13 points on Tuesday, both losses.
Quickley likely suffered the injury on Tuesday versus the Philadelphia 76ers, but he was able to finish the contest. With Payton also out, the Knicks will likely turn to Frank Ntilikina in the starting lineup on Thursday versus the Magic.

The loss of Quickley will be a big blow for the Knicks as they face a banged-up Magic team. He gives the team a dynamic scoring option and now the Knicks will be forced to play on without him.
Note: This story was updated to include the latest playing status of Quickley.
