New York Knicks guard Immanuel Quickley reportedly left USA Basketball training camp due to contact tracing, according to Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News.
On Thursday, Quickley, PJ Washington and Miles Bridges each left training camp due to health and safety protocols. Quickley did not test positive for the coronavirus but was forced to leave after apparently coming in close contact with the virus.
Quickley, who was named to the NBA All-Rookie second team, was among 17 players named to the select team that opened training camp this week in Las Vegas, Nevada. The select team is practicing and scrimmaging daily to prepare the U.S. national team for the Olympics.
The last day of camp for the select team was on Friday.

Earlier this week, Quickley expressed his excitement over earning the invitation to participate with the select team. He said competing against the U.S. Olympic team gave him the opportunity to talk to Kevin Durant and pick his brain on different areas of the game.
“Just to get to pick people’s brains, like I was talking to Kevin Durant today,” Quickley said on Wednesday. “Being around the best basketball players in the world is a great experience. He told me we can get some work in while we’re both here so that’s probably the best thing any of these guys could say that they’re willing to work out with us and willing to teach us.”
While Quickley was forced to leave camp early, the opportunity to spend part of the week around players like Durant, Damian Lillard and Jayson Tatum still figures to help his development immensely. Overall, the week was likely still a success for Quickley and the rest of the select team.
