Knicks’ Immanuel Quickley: No. 4 trending topic after strong outing

Quickley had social media talking after the Knicks erased a 17-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat the Cavaliers on Wednesday.

New York Knicks rookie Immanuel Quickley found himself on Wednesday as one of the top trending topics on social media after leading his team to victory in just his second preseason game.

Quickley produced nine points, seven assists and one rebound in 24 minutes off the bench in the 100-93 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. He went cold from the field, converting on just 3-of-11 shots, but finished a team-high plus-19 while on the court.

New York trailed by as many as 17 points in the fourth quarter but Quickley helped lead the comeback after outscoring Cleveland 34-13 in the final period. He injected instant energy and effort on both sides of the ball and even dished out six assists alone in the quarter.

Quickley had everyone talking after connecting on an alley-oop with fellow rookie Obi Toppin.

Knicks fans certainly had a lot to do with Quickley climbing as high as the fourth trending topic on Twitter during the game. He looked every bit a starting point guard based on his poise as the primary ball-handler finding his teammates and running the offense, especially late in the game.

Leading the Knicks back certainly earned Quickley some praise from fans during the game, and some of the reactions were quite entertaining, to say the least.
