It might have been a little confusing to New York Knicks fans when they saw a tweet from the franchise come across their Twitter timelines Wednesday night: “CODY, WE DID IT.”
Cody? Who’s that? What does that have to do with the Knicks making the postseason for the first time since 2013?
Let’s go back a year after that: in 2014, a young fan named Cody was featured on an ESPN broadcast with the following chyron: “Christmas wish: Knicks make playoffs.”
You know what’s happened since then. Cody hasn’t gotten his Christmas wish … UNTIL NOW!
So of course this is becoming a meme:
CODY, WE DID IT.
