Kliff Kingsbury sends Patrick Mahomes’ high school coach to Super Bowl

What a thoughtful gesture from Kingsbury, who coached Mahomes at Texas Tech.

The Kansas City Chiefs are in the Super Bowl with Patrick Mahomes, their starting quarterback. Of course, Mahomes played collegiately at Texas Tech, where Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury was head coach before 2019. He coached Mahomes.

Having coached and recruited Mahomes, he knows about his high school and his high school coach.

Kingsbury made an impressive gesture to Mahomes’ old high school coach, Adam Cook.

Kingsbury got him tickets to the Super Bowl so he could see his old quarterback play in the biggest game of his life. It is the first time a quarterback from a Texas college starts in the Super Bowl.

This fact became known because of a letter that Cook wrote to Kingsbury’s father, who was a longtime high school football coach.

Cook was moved and praised Kingsbury’s father for raising a thoughtful man and hopes his two sons can look to the Cardinals coach as an example later on in life.

It was an impressive move that should be a memory of a lifetime, especially if Mahomes leads the Chiefs to a Super Bowl win.
