Kliff Kingsbury preparing for pitch to have Larry Fitzgerald return in 2020

He knows he has to do it before too long because Fitzgerald takes off to travel the world.

It is the time of year when the question returns — will Larry Fitzgerald return and play next year for the Arizona Cardinals or will he retire? He never gives any clues. But head coach Kliff Kingsbury is hopeful he returns.

He has a sales pitch.

“I’ll give him my pitch here in a couple weeks,” he told reporters this week, although he would not reveal how he plans on trying to convince him to play another season.

“That’ll be between us,” he said.

He will wait, though. It won’t happen yet but it will happen soon because he knows Fitzgerald is hard to track down in the offseason.

“Just in the next couple of weeks before he heads to Australia or Europe or wherever he offseasons at,” he said. “You all won’t be able to find him to ask him yourselves, I know that.”
