Kim Mulkey named to late season watchlist for Naismith Coach of the Year

Kim Mulkey has the Tigers at 22-4 coming off their first national title season in program history.

In the midst of what could be another special season in Baton Rouge, LSU women’s basketball coach [autotag]Kim Mulkey[/autotag] has been named to the late season watchlist for the Naismith Coach of the Year award by the Atlanta Tipoff Club.

Mulkey led the Tigers to the first national championship in program history in her second year with the team last season, and that marked her fourth national title overall after she won three at Baylor.

She has LSU currently sitting at 22-4 on the year, and the team has won its last four games as it continues to push for a high seed in the NCAA tournament.

This would mark Mulkey’s second time winning the Naismith Coach of the Year after she won it at Baylor in 2011-12.
