The SEC on Monday provided an update on kickoff times for its Weeks 6-7 games, including the Kentucky Wildcats’ SEC showdown with the Vanderbilt Commodores on Oct. 12 in Lexington.
The Wildcats (3-2) and Vanderbilt (2-2) will kick off under the lights of Kroger Field at 7:45 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on SEC Network.
This year’s contest will mark the 97th all-time head-to-head meeting between the two border state rivals. Kentucky holds a narrow 48-43-4 lead in the series, which dates back to 1896.
A year ago, the Wildcats won 45-28 in Nashville, marking their seventh win in the last eight tries against the Commodores. In that game, Maxwell Hairston had not one but two interceptions returned for touchdowns. Ray Davis ran for 78 yards and two touchdowns.
Kentucky is coming off its biggest victory of the season — if not the Mark Stoops era — after taking down the No. 5-ranked Ole Miss Rebels, 20-17, in Oxford. The Wildcats have a bye this week.

Vanderbilt started the year with an upset win over the Virginia Tech Hokies, 27-24 in overtime. Coach Clark Lea’s team has dropped its last two games, 36-32 at Georgia State on Sept. 14 and a heartbreaking 30-27 loss in double overtime at No. 9 Missouri on Sept. 21.
The Commodores host the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide (4-0) this Saturday in Nashville.
