Kickoff time, broadcast info released for renewal of Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry

Auburn will travel to Athens to battle the Georgia Bulldogs for the 127th time in history on Saturday, Oct. 8.

Auburn’s first road trip of the season will receive the SEC Game of the Week treatment. The 127th meeting between Auburn and No. 1ย Georgia will by kickoff at 2:30 p.m. CT, and will be broadcasted live on CBS.

The series is only separated by six games, with Georgia holding on to a 62-56-8 advantage. However, the series has been dominated heavily by Georgia since 2002, with the Bulldogs winning 16 of the last 21 meetings.

Georgia has also won eight of the last ten, with Auburn winning in 2013 on a tipped hail mary with less than one minute remaining in the contest, and the regular season meeting in 2017, when Georgia came to Jordan-Hare Stadium ranked No. 1. The defending national champions won last season’s meeting in Auburn, 34-10, which was their 5th win in a row in the series.

The game will be a part of a double-header granted to CBS. The Auburn-Georgia game kicks off at the traditional Saturday afternoon time slot, while No. 2 Alabama‘s much-anticipated rematch with No. 17 Texas A&M will also be broadcasted on the network beginning at 7 p.m. CT in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

It will also mark the first time all season that every SEC team will be playing a conference game in the same week.

So far on the season, Auburn is 0-1 in games broadcasted on CBS. The Tigers dropped a nonconference game to Penn State on Sept. 17, 41-12 at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
