Much of the focus this week will be on Penn State’s big primetime showdown with the Auburn Tigers, but fans of the Nittany Lions can now start planning ahead for their Week 4 routine. A kickoff time for Penn State’s home game against Villanova on Sept. 25 has now been officially confirmed.
According to a release from Penn State on Monday, and as noted on Villanova’s official Twitter account for its football program, the Nittany Lions and Wildcats will kick things off at noon eastern. The game will be aired on Big Ten Network.

Penn State and Villanova have not met on the football field since 1951. Although Penn State leads the all-time series, 5-3-1, Villanova has won the last three meetings. So call this a long-awaited revenge situation if you’d like.
It could also potentially be a matchup of top 10 teams, with Penn State looking to be a consensus top 10 team following a win in Week 3 against Auburn and Villanova recently moving up to No. 9 in the AFCA Coaches Top 25. It may not be as sexy as a top 10 matchup with Iowa, another realistic possibility down the line, but it’s fun to market it that way if you can.
