Kickboxing champion, former Israel Adesanya foe Alex Pereira signs with LFA

The man who handed UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya his lone knockout in combat sports is set to return to MMA.

The man who last defeated UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has plans to resume his MMA career.

Pereira (2-1), the reigning GLORY Kickboxing middleweight champion and interim light heavyweight champion, has signed with LFA, officials announced on Thursday.

Pereira, a 33-year-old Brazilian, is the last man to hand Adesanya a loss in combat sports competition, knocking him out in a kickboxing match in 2017. He will return to MMA for the first time in more than four years, with his most recent fight being a knockout win in May 2016.

A date and opponent for Pereira’s LFA debut is yet to be announced.
