A flyweight fight has been added to the UFC lineup on June 19.
Hawaii’s [autotag]Tyson Nam[/autotag] and Russia’s [autotag]Tagir Ulanbekov[/autotag] will square off at the UFC Fight Night event, which doesn’t currently have a confirmed location or venue.
Two people with knowledge of the matchup informed MMA Junkie of the booking Wednesday but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.
Nam (20-12-1 MMA, 2-3 UFC) lost a split decision to Matt Schnell in January that snapped a two-fight winning streak. Both of his back-to-back victories in that stretch ended by knockout inside the first two rounds.
A teammate and friend of former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, Ulanbekov (12-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) debuted triumphantly in October when he defeated Bruno Silva via unanimous decision. The 29-year-old is currently carrying a four-fight winning streak into his sophomore promotional outing.
With the addition to the card, the June 19 event now includes:
- Matt Brown vs. Dhiego Lima
- Virna Jandiroba vs. Kanako Murata
- Roque Martinez vs. Josh Parisian
- Bruno Silva vs. Wellington Turman
- Julian Erosa vs. Seung Woo Choi
- Casey O’Neill vs. Lara Procopio
- Tyson Nam vs. Tagir Ulanbekov
