Key offensive line target DeAndre Carter sets commitment date

He is picking between Auburn, Texas and Michigan State.

[autotag]DeAndre Carter[/autotag] is one of, if not Auburn’s top targets left in the 2024 recruiting cycle and the four-star offensive lineman is ready to announce his commitment. He will reveal his decision on Sept. 3, choosing between Auburn, Texas and Michigan State.

Carter is the No. 101 overall player and No. 3 interior offensive lineman in the 247Sports Composite ranking. He is also the No. 14 player from California.

While he is listed as an interior lineman, Auburn has been recruiting him as someone who can play both guard and tackle, only increasing his value.  Carter has officially visited Auburn (June 16) and Michigan State (June 23) and is scheduled to take one to Texas on Sept. 29.

While the Santa Anna, California native is well outside Auburn’s typical recruiting footprint, he has family in Birmingham and made the cross-country trek to return for Big Cat Weekend and that visit could be critical in their pursuit of Carter.

The Tigers became the overwhelming favorites to land the 6-foot-4, 340-pounder after his return. They received four crystal ball predictions by 247Sports‘ writers and On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Auburn a 93.6% chance of being his pick on Sept. 3.
