Despite Auburn’s recent success on the recruiting trail, you will never be able to sign all of your targets. That happened Thursday when key offensive line target [autotag]Jameson Riggs[/autotag] announced his commitment to Georgia Tech on Twitter.
Riggs included Auburn in his top 10 schools in May and took several trips to the Plains, including an official visit in June. However that wasn’t enough to keep the the 6-foot-5, 300-pounder from following in his dad’s footsteps and picking the Yellow Jackets.
He is the No. 643 overall player and No. 44 interior offensive lineman on the 247Sports composite. The Hiram, Georgia, native is the No. 78 player from the Peach State.
Auburn is looking to land its first offensive line commit of the 2024 recruiting cycle. While missing out on Riggs hurts, it is far from killer.
Two of Auburn’s top targets, DeAndre Carter and Reese Baker are both expected to be at Big Cat Weekend, and there is a chance one or both could commit to the Tigers during or shortly after the event.
