Every golfer has moments where they just can’t seem to get it right.
Their drive is a little off, the putts are off by a few inches, they just can’t stay out of the bunker for whatever reason. It happens! That’s golf. It’s a really tough sport to play for a reason.
But what happened to Kevin Na on the 17th hole at The Players Championship on Thursday was just…wild. That’s the only way to properly describe it.
Now, it’s not an easy hole at all. It takes some real touch on the drive to get the ball onto the green and put it in because it’s surrounded by water.
Na found that out the hard way. He had to drive the ball four times before actually landing on the edge of the green. He’d knocked it in the water three times before that.
It was such a rough watch.

It gets rougher when you look at the accompanying graphic from the broadcast. Yikes.

Whew. That’s a rough 8 right there, but at least he managed to chip the ball in well on that final shot! Silver linings, y’all.
What a rough day for Na.
