By all accounts, star Brooklyn Nets swingman Kevin Durant is among the greatest to ever play the game. But as he battles Father Time, his game has begun to show cracks — cracks that were exploited mercilessly by rising Boston Celtics star forward Jayson Tatum in the first round of the 2022 NBA playoffs, sending Durant’s Nets fishing with a gentleman’s sweep.
So who, at this moment, is the better player? While KD’s resume clearly runs circles around the St. Louis native’s, in the present, the edge could very well belong to Tatum given his team has been playing.
A pair of Celtics legends, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, recently debated this question on an episode of the “Ticket and the Truth” Showtime Basketball podcast.
Take a look at what they had to say in the clip embedded above, and see if you agree with their takes.
