Anytime the Brooklyn Nets are in Boston, all eyes are going to be on Kyrie Irving given his run with Celtics and the way things end. Before Friday night’s win over the Celtics, Irving was seen walking around the TD Garden parquet floor burning sage. Needless to say, it caught many off-guard — although ESPN’s Cassidy Hubbarth reported mid-game Irving did sage the court at Barclays Center before playing the Wizards.
But there was at least one Nets player who wasn’t caught off-guard by what Irving did: Kevin Durant.
“That’s his thing,” Durant said on ESPN2 after the win. “I mean, Ky probably sages his room before 2K at home. So, that’s just what he does and I think that gives us good energy. He does that in the locker room. That’s his thing and we all respect it and we respect his methods. He comes down and plays really hard for us.”
