Kevin Durant ruled out vs. Grizzlies

Kevin Durant will be unavailable for the Brooklyn Nets on Monday so he can rest his surgically repaired right Achilles.

For the first time in 2020-21, Kyrie Irving will have to play a game without Kevin Durant. Brooklyn’s star forward has been ruled out for Monday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies, with the team citing “injury recovery” as the reason.

Of course, Spencer Dinwiddie will also be unavailable against the Grizzlies on Monday. The guard was diagnosed with a partially torn right ACL on Monday after suffering an injury on Sunday. The team announced he will have surgery next week, but the Nets have not set a timetable for his return — although, Shams Charania of The Athletic is reporting Dinwiddie is out for the remainder of the season.

Nic Claxton (right knee tendinopathy) also remains sidelined for the Nets.

Safe to say, Brooklyn’s starting lineup on Monday will look very different from the one that was trotted out in the first three games of the season.

On the other side, the Grizzlies are still without Jaren Jackson Jr. (knee), as well as Justise Winslow (hip).
