Kevin Durant ruled out through NBA All-Star break

Brooklyn Nets fans have to wait quite a bit longer to see Kevin Durant take the floor in a game again.

While the Nets made history with Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving being the franchise’s first trio to make the NBA All-Star Game, Brooklyn fans won’t get to see their big three take the floor together in Atlanta for the contest.

In fact, Nets fans will have to wait until after the All-Star break to see Durant play again. Brooklyn announced on Friday Durant will be out until the second half of the season, releasing the following statement:

“After a routine follow-up MRI on his left hamstring, it was determined that Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant will require an additional recovery period that will result in him remaining out through the NBA All-Star break.

“The latest images provided a clearer picture of the hamstring and while we are confident that Durant will return at full strength, this extra recovery time will allow him to perform at the level at which he has been playing this season once he returns. Durant will continue to undergo rehabilitation and will be re-assessed following the break.”

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Indiana’s Domontas Sabonis is expected to replace Durant in the All-Star Game.
