Kevin Durant ruled out Friday vs. Cavaliers

The Brooklyn Nets will be without Kevin Durant for the first time since his seven-day quarantine on Friday.

It’s time for the James Harden-Kyrie Irving duo.

Kevin Durant has been ruled out for Friday’s game as the Nets tries to manage his surgically repaired Achilles on the first day of a road-home back-to-back. This comes on the heels of Durant playing 50 minutes in Brooklyn’s double-overtime loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday. It is the second time this season Durant has missed a game to manage his Achilles — the last time being on the second day of a back-to-back in December.

Along with Durant, the Nets are still without Nic Claxton (right knee tendinopathy) and Spencer Dinwiddie (ACL surgery).

On the other side, the Cavs are down Kevin Love (calf), Matthew Dellavedova (concussion) and Dylan Windler (wrist). Darius Garland (shoulder) is expected to make his return after not having played in a game since January 2, though he is listed as questionable to play.
