It’s been nearly two years since Kevin Durant last played for the Golden State Warriors, and in that time, the Warriors have experienced a sharp decline from their former status atop the NBA.
You’d think that a drop from a perennial NBA title favorite to a 15-50 bottom-feeder would be a tough change for Warriors coach Steve Kerr. But in some respects, he’s had a better time coaching a last-place team (and now, a fringe playoff team) than coaching those 2018-19 Warriors.
In an interview on Real Ones with Raja & Logan, Kerr said that he had a “tough” time with that team and hinted at turmoil behind the scenes.
Steve Kerr told @loganmmurdock he enjoyed last season (when the Warriors went 15-50) more than Kevin Durant's final season with the Warriors.
"That last year was tough. There was a lot going on — some that you know about and some that you don’t. That was very difficult."

And that quote caught the attention of the very-online Durant who responded, “This is hilarious.”

Chemistry issues were well documented from that Warriors team, especially the early season beef between Durant and Draymond Green. And yet, Kerr alluded to more drama that we don’t know about.
Still, it’s tough to imagine that any coach would rather go 15-50 than compete for an NBA title.
