After taking the first night of the Nets’ road-home back-to-back off to manage his surgically repaired Achilles — a game Brooklyn lost — Kevin Durant is set to return to the starting lineup on Saturday against the Miami Heat on Saturday at Barclays Center. The Nets removed the forward from the team status report on Saturday, making Nicolas Claxton (right knee tendinopathy) and Spencer Dinwiddie (ACL surgery) the only players on Brooklyn’s roster who are unavailable against the Heat.
Unlike the Nets, the Heat are not expected to have their best player on Saturday. Jimmy Butler is out — along with Tyler Herro and Avery Bradley — due to the NBA’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Additionally, Myers Leonard (should) and Justise Winslow (hip) are not expected to play against the Nets.
The Nets and Heat tip off on Saturday at 8 p.m.
