It’s 2020. Kevin Durant left the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2016 to join the Golden State Warriors. Yet, even still, Durant’s departure from Oklahoma City remains one of the most talked about topics of conversation around the NBA.
Durant’s perception took a turn for the worse publicly when he left the Thunder. I don’t really feel like we have to go over why or what his reasoning was anymore.
But on the All The Smoke Podcast with Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes, Durant opened up in detail about why he left the Thunder in the first place and it started with what was around him.
“I was tired of having to be the only guy that could make threes, make jump shots. Consistently make them. My mind was already thinking about ‘How can I develop my game?’ more so than the Warriors versus Thunder…I just wanted to keep developing my game.”
So that’s that on that — at least it should be.
He’s currently under contract with the Brooklyn Nets and won’t be going anywhere for the forseeable future. We shouldn’t have to talk about this anymore with Durant.
