Kevin Durant has been sensational in the playoffs so far for the Brooklyn Nets, which is especially impressive given how closely he’s being guarded.
When three of your best players can make deep shots with a hand in their face, the spacing offensively is going to be beautiful. That is exactly what we’re looking at with the Nets’ big three of Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving. They rank in the top 18 for players taking contested threes in the playoffs – and Kevin Durant leads the pack.
Durant is shooting 50 percent from downtown with a contest frequency of 90 percent according to Owen Phillips of StatMuse. The only other players who have a better shooting percentage from three than KD are Mike Conley and Joe Harris, but they aren’t contested nearly as often, with a contest frequency at 58 percent and 55 percent respectively.
