Outside of something popping up during the postseason, the timing of Kevin Durant’s quarantine could not have been worse for the Brooklyn Nets. Spencer Dinwiddie just underwent successful surgery to repair his partially torn ACL and the Nets are trying to bounce from a rough skid — during which they lost four of their previous five.
And while Durant is set to miss four games with his minimum quarantine period set at seven games, he could miss more time. Before Tuesday’s game against the Utah Jazz, Steve Nash said on a Zoom call with reporters. “the length of the quarantine, I think, is still a moving target.”
“I don’t really have an answer yet on how long. … we’re waiting for official word,” Nash added.

Nash also expressed Durant is “extremely upset” to miss time.
“It’s horrible for him,” Brooklyn’s head coach said. “He’s worked his way back after such a long layoff, and then to miss games is frustrating for him. But we just gotta stick with it and play the long game, and know that, in time, he’ll be back and we’ll forget about this window that he missed.”
