As much as Kevin Durant’s play is the No. 1 topic that surrounds the superstar, what he does off the court is of significant interest, as well. While his business portfolio has grown vastly, especially in recent years, his social media presence remains a focal point for all sports fans, not just those who follow the NBA closely.
It’s no secret why either. Durant has had Twitter burner accounts in the past. Also, he will now, occasionally, respond to critics on social media.
There came a point where the Brooklyn Nets forward decided to get rid of his burners. During his appearance on Barstool’s “The Corp” podcast, he expressed that he “felt embarrassed,” when everyone realized he had a burner.
But Durant is back in the burner game — though not exactly for the reasons some might think:
I still have burners I use, for sure. I have a burner Twitter account still. See, when people use that burner [account] thing against me they only thought I was on there just to talk [expletive]. I was really indulging in a lot of different communities on my burners. So when I deleted it, I was like, ‘What the [expletive]. These people really made me delete something I enjoy,’ which is my burner account. So I got another one. Talk to friends, just to kinda do my own thing on the side. But I’m at my peak on Twitter. I think a lot of my followers enjoy my content.
