Ever since the novel coronavirus forced the shutdown of sports in the United States, along with many other businesses, athletes have been among those who have tried to lend a helping hand in some capacity.
Given the nature of COVID-19, athletes are stuck at home, like others employed by businesses that have been deemed non-essential. Therefore, the manner in which they can help is limited.
The one thing most athletes have done is make donations, and Brooklyn Nets center DeAndre Jordan is one of the latest to do so.
According to CloseUp360, Jordan is donating over one million vegan burgers to those in need, via Beyond Meat. The food will be delivered to the Brooklyn Hospital Center and Jacobi/Montefiore EM by DoorDash and Rethink Food:
DeAndre Jordan is partnering with @BeyondMeat to donate 1 million-plus vegan burgers to those in need during the #coronavirus shutdown. Last week, the Nets center enlisted @DoorDash and @RethinkFoodNYC to deliver Beyond Burgers to the @official_tbhc and @Jacobi_EM. 🍔 @DeAndre pic.twitter.com/gE1IdrTN7U

Kevin Durant is also doing his part. He’s taking part in the All in Challenge and offering fans the chance for the experience of the lifetime:
