When it was first established Kevin Durant would have to serve out a seven-day quarantine in accordance with the NBA’s health and safety protocols, the Nets were expected to be without the star forward for the next four games. Durant has already missed one game — a 130-96 win over the Utah Jazz — will miss Thursday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers, along with Kyrie Irving, and Friday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Durant was also expected to miss a visit from his old team, the Oklahoma City Thunder, on Sunday. But it turns out, there’s a chance the forward takes the floor at Barclays Center sooner than expected, as Steve Nash told reporters on a Zoom call before Thursday’s game against the Sixers.
“I think Kevin’s situation is that if he continues to test negative, he can play Sunday,” Brooklyn’s head coach said. “That’s all I have on that.”
Nash also added:
“Cant’t wait for Sunday to come.”
