The Arizona Cardinals held a light practice on Tuesday and had several improvements on their injury report. However, it looks likely that rookie Isaiah Simmons could get the start at inside linebacker and play a significant role on defense.
Starting linebacker De’Vondre Campbell was among those who did not participate in practice on Tuesday, two days before the Cardinals’ Thursday night game against the Seattle Seahawks. Campbell exited Sunday’s game with a calf injury.
Five other players also did not practice. Tight ends Darrell Daniels (ankle) and Maxx Williams (ankle) both sat out, although Williams has gotten very limited practice this season, even when healthy enough to play. Daniels hurt his ankle on Sunday.
Defensive lineman Corey Peters, who was carted off the field on Sunday with a knee injury, did not practice again. Nothing official has been said about it, but it is believed his injury is serious.
Offensive lineman Justin Murray (hand) and special teamer Charles Washington (groin) also sat out.
Defensive tackle Jordan Phillips (hamstring) got limited work on Tuesday. So did linebacker Haason Reddick (neck) and safety Jalen Thompson (shoulder). They all were listed as DNPs on Tuesday’s estimated injury report.
Listed as limited for the second day in a row were safety Budda Baker (ankle/groin), running back Kenyan Drake (ankle) and cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick (hamstring).
Receivers Larry Fitzgerald and DeAndre Hopkins were full participants after being listed as DNPs for rest on Monday.
