Kentucky’s bowl projections suffer after losing to Vanderbilt

Here are the latest bowl projections for Kentucky football for this season.

Kentucky football has made it to eight straight postseason bowl games under coach Mark Stoops, and would like to make it nine this season. A loss to Vanderbilt on Saturday did not help those chances, though.

After the week seven games, media outlets updated their bowl projections for this season, and the Wildcats took a hit. They still could make a bowl game, but it will be more difficult now.

ESPN analysts Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach (subscription required) both put Kentucky in the Lockheed-Martin Armed Forces Bowl. Bonagura has them playing Navy, while Schlabach has them against West Virginia. That game takes place on December 27th.

USA Today Sports was less favorable to the Wildcats. In their projection, Kentucky misses out on a bowl appearance completely, breaking their streak.

CBS Sports kept Kentucky in the Music City Bowl on December 30th. They would be playing the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

The Wildcats are 3 – 3 now, and will need to play much better the rest of the way if they want to make a ninth straight bowl game.
