Kentucky basketball’s success in 2024-25, will depend on how a roster consisting entirely of newcomers comes together. The backcourt, in particular, is experienced, and will be counted on early to help them gel.
The Wildcats will rely on the likes of Kerr Kriisa, Lamont Butler, Jaxson Robinson, and Otega Oweh, who are all Juniors and Seniors. They also have talented Freshmen Travis Perry, Trent Noah, and Collin Chandler ready to contribute.

The potential is there to be an elite backcourt, and The Field of 68 has them ranked as the 16th best in the country. Fans might be dismayed to see that Kentucky comes in one spot behind Louisville, as well as four spots back of Arkansas, the new home of John Calipari.
Of course, these rankings are meaningless and just conjecture, but it’s interesting to see how the teams, and Kentucky in particular, are viewed. The Wildcats have plenty of talent, and being ranked in the top 20 isn’t bad.
